Chapter 8: A Lot to Learn
Tian Siyi's King rank was completely earned through her own skill. She carried Chen Chen all morning, winning game after game, so much that Chen Chen even forgot to make lunch. In the end, they had to order takeout.
Chen Chen glanced at Tian Siyi. She was taking big bites out of her hamburger without the slightest bit of ladylike behavior.
He shook his head.
"I can't play with you this afternoon. I have something important to do."
"It's your day off. Just enjoy it! What could be so important that it has to be done today?"
Chen Chen had been working a temporary job during summer vacation, and today and tomorrow were his days off.
"I need to study how to take care of you now that you're a girl."
Tian Siyi waved her hand.
"What's there to study? If a problem comes up, we'll deal with it then."
"If we wait until something happens, it'll already be too late. Just look at your voice. By the time you realized something was wrong and went to the hospital, it couldn't be fixed anymore."
"Uh..."
Tian Siyi awkwardly picked up a napkin and pretended to wipe her mouth.
To be honest, it was strange. Before her voice was damaged, there hadn't been any warning signs at all. She had even drunk more alcohol before that without any problems.
"Sorry for making you go through all this," she said a little embarrassed.
After all, it was her own problem, yet Chen Chen was always the one worrying about it. She really did feel a little guilty. But when it came to preventing problems before they happened, she simply couldn't think of everything.
She was very good at dealing with problems after they appeared, but she wasn't good at noticing possible dangers ahead of time.
Looking at Tian Siyi's gentle and helpless expression, Chen Chen suddenly felt a strong sense of determination.
"You don't have to apologize. Isn't this exactly what a manager is supposed to do? Besides, I'm counting on you to make me some money."
"You can count on me."
Tian Siyi patted her chest confidently.
Her eyes then fell on the untouched chicken drumstick. She looked down at her stomach and gently rubbed it before reluctantly placing the drumstick in front of Chen Chen.
"You can have this."
"Huh? Why aren't you eating it?" In Chen Chen's memory, Tian Siyi had always been protective of her food. She especially wouldn't easily give away something she liked.
Tian Siyi simply replied, "I'm full. I can't eat anymore."
Chen Chen suddenly understood.
It seemed that after becoming a girl, Tian Siyi's appetite had become much smaller. He made a mental note of it so he could cook less food in the future.
After returning to her room, Tian Siyi looked down at her stomach again. Standing up, she could hardly see it anymore. She reached out and gently touched it.
She had also noticed that she ate much less now. But as a girl, keeping a good figure was more important, so eating less wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
"Besides, eating less also saves money, which is nice. The only problem is that I can't save my favorite food for last anymore. If I do, I'll be too full to eat it."
She still felt a little sad about giving the chicken drumstick to Chen Chen. If she had known, she wouldn't have eaten the hamburger. The two pieces of bread had filled her up too much.
After sitting back down at her computer, she saw that the raid group chat was still busy chatting.
Although the voice message she had sent using her real girl's voice had caused quite a stir, everyone had reached the same conclusion in the end. No one believed that Tian Siyi was actually a girl. They all assumed she had either used a voice changer or asked someone else to record it.
She didn't care.
Seeing the customers urging her to start another raid, she logged in without hesitation and got back to making money.
As the hottest new game of the year, Star Sky Adventure was still extremely popular, so leading raid groups was bringing in a good amount of income.
She just didn't know how long that popularity would last.
Fortunately, her voice had recovered, and she could sing again. She could finally focus on becoming a singer, and her days of making money through gaming would soon come to an end.
That afternoon, Tian Siyi earned a lot of money again. Back when she was still a guy, it would have been enough to cover almost a whole month's living expenses.
People always said that girls spent more money, but she didn't really know what that meant. Her savings weren't very large anymore, and she had no idea how long they would last. Just buying a few tops and a few skirts yesterday had already cost her several thousand yuan.
Of course, clothes weren't something you bought every day. She might not even shop like that once a year, so it wasn't a good example of her daily expenses.
From what she understood so far, girls mainly spent extra money on skincare products. Since she was naturally pretty now, she probably wouldn't need much makeup, so the extra cost shouldn't be too high.
She browsed a few more online stores but couldn't find anything else she wanted.
"I'll just ask Chen Chen later."
As soon as she finished speaking, Chen Chen called from outside the room.
"Dinner's ready!"
"Coming!"
Tian Siyi and Chen Chen usually lived very regular lives. Mostly because Chen Chen cared a lot about keeping a routine, and after spending so much time with him, Tian Siyi had also developed good time management habits.
Every day around this time, she would stop playing games early, watch a few videos online while waiting for dinner, and head over as soon as Chen Chen called.
But today, she didn't have much of an appetite.
Looking at the table full of delicious food, she rubbed her stomach. It wasn't that the food didn't look good. She just wasn't hungry at all.
"I think my appetite has gotten a lot smaller... I only ate a little at lunch, and I'm still not hungry."
Chen Chen nodded. "I already made less food today. Just eat as much as you can."
"Okay."
Tian Siyi really liked this kind of home-cooked food. Giving up alcohol was one thing, but she hadn't expected that now she wouldn't even be able to eat much.
Seeing her looking a little disappointed, Chen Chen said, "Actually, eating less is a good thing. If you ate a lot, you'd have to worry about losing weight later."

Tian Siyi knew that girls cared more about keeping their figure than guys did, especially girls who wanted to become idols or celebrities. If they gained too much weight, it could easily become trending news.
She sighed. "How about I just stop eating rice from now on? I'll just eat the dishes."
She had never been very interested in eating regular meals. If she had the choice, she would rather drink alcohol and eat meat every day. Of course, she couldn't drink anymore, but she could still eat meat.
With how small her stomach had become, she couldn't eat much anyway. If she filled it with rice, there wouldn't be much room left for the food she actually liked.
Chen Chen gave her another look. He knew exactly what she liked.
"You don't have to eat rice, but no drinking."
"I won't... I'll just eat the dishes."
"Alright then. Eating fewer carbs will also make it easier to keep your weight under control. I'll adjust your meals from now on."
"Hehe."
Tian Siyi smiled, pushed her bowl of rice over to Chen Chen, picked up her chopsticks, and happily started enjoying the dishes.
Looking at the girl's sweet smile, Chen Chen remembered that Tian Siyi had always been a little stubborn and liked doing things her own way.
Somehow, after becoming a girl, that stubborn side of her seemed strangely cute.
Chen Chen shook his head.
What am I thinking? That's Tian Siyi, my best friend, my bro.
"Some of your clothes have arrived. I brought them inside and left them on the sofa. Try them on after dinner."
"Already?"
Tian Siyi looked surprised. She had only placed the order last night, and it had already arrived today?
"They were shipped from our city, Mujiang, so of course they got here quickly."
"Alright."
Tian Siyi looked down at what she was wearing. She was still dressed in men's clothes, which were much too loose on her. The thin white shirt clung to her body, and she could even faintly see the soft pink color underneath. It really didn't look very proper.
From now on, I'll have to wear a bra... I'm really not used to that.
Maybe I shouldn't buy light-colored clothes anymore? It feels like even if I wear a bra, you could still see its outline through the shirt. How do other girls deal with this?
She let out a quiet sigh.
