Chapter 43: The Prank
Winston Girls' High School was a boarding school with strict management. Except during holidays, students were generally not allowed to leave the campus.
Although Winston was strict about students leaving school, it was surprisingly relaxed when it came to evening self-study sessions.
The school believed that forcing students to study did not always produce good results. Sometimes it even led to poor efficiency despite greater effort.
Besides, the students who could get into Winston were all excellent students, so the school did not worry much about their self-discipline.
As a result, the school decided that the time from 7 PM to 10 PM would be completely free for students to use as they wished. Those who wanted to study could still go to the academic building.
However, everyone had to return to their dormitories by 10 PM. The dormitory gates would close at that time, and at 10:30 PM the lights would be turned off and dorm inspections would begin.
Since students lived, studied, and ate on campus, there was also a shopping street inside the school where they could buy daily necessities.
Besides stores that sold everyday items, there were also several milk tea shops and snack stores. After all, the students were teenage girls, and many of them loved these kinds of food and drinks.
Because of that, every evening, many students could be seen chatting with friends while drinking milk tea on the shopping street.
At that moment, Ye Feilu was sitting in a milk tea shop drinking a hot cup of milk tea.
With drooping eyelids, she looked at Wu Yuxin, who was sitting across from her, and spat out the straw that she had nearly chewed apart.
"Yuxin-chan, who do you think has been pulling those pranks?"
"Hmm... I don't know."
Wu Yuxin calmly picked up a french fry with her fingers and put it into her mouth.
"Damn it. If I find out who did it, I definitely won't let her off."
Ye Feilu gritted her teeth and took another big sip of milk tea.
Ever since returning to school this week, she had noticed that someone had been secretly playing pranks on her every day.
First, someone had covered her desk with messy writing using a red marker.
Then she started receiving strange threatening letters in her desk drawer.
Finally, someone filled her sneakers with thumbtacks and staples.
"Hmm... maybe you offended someone, Xiao Lu."
Wu Yuxin said this seriously while keeping her usual expressionless face.
"Offended someone?"
"Think carefully."
"Umm..."
After thinking as hard as she could for more than ten seconds, Ye Feilu still could not think of anyone she had offended.
On one hand, she did not have many friends. She rarely interacted with people at school.
When she was not in class, she preferred staying in her dorm room watching anime by herself, or going out for milk tea with Wu Yuxin like they were doing now.
On weekends, she usually spent her time practicing with the band.
And as an otaku girl, she felt that she should not have attracted anyone's hatred.
"Could it be one of your haters?" Wu Yuxin suddenly suggested.
"A hater?"
Ye Feilu rested her round cheek on her hand and thought for a moment.
"Maybe."
"If you really want to know who did it, I have an idea."
"What idea?"
"Well..."
…………………………
The next morning.
At six o'clock in the morning, Winston School was unusually quiet.
Other than the sounds of birds, there was almost no noise.
Since some sports students needed to train early in the morning, the dormitory doors were usually opened at six.
Inside the academic building, an ordinary-looking girl wearing black-rimmed glasses stood outside Class 4 of Grade 11.
She carefully looked around to make sure nobody was nearby before taking out a key and unlocking the classroom door.
After entering, she walked straight to a desk near the window.
She took out a red marker and began scribbling all over the desktop.
While writing, she muttered curses under her breath.
"You homewrecker... trying to steal my man... die, die, die..."
After covering the entire desk with insulting red words, she finally stopped with a satisfied smile.
Then she took out a stack of envelopes from her pocket and was about to put them into the desk drawer when a voice suddenly stopped her.
"So you're the one who's been pulling these pranks all this time?"
Ye Feilu glared angrily at the unfamiliar girl with glasses.
Beside her stood Wu Yuxin.
This was the plan they had come up with the night before.
They had arrived early and waited in the classroom.
After all, someone doing this kind of thing would not choose a time when many people were around. The best opportunity would be early morning when the classroom was almost empty.
Even after being caught red-handed, the girl with glasses did not panic.
Instead, she calmly replied,
"That's right. I did it. I just don't like you. So what?"
Seeing that the girl showed no remorse and was even acting arrogantly, Ye Feilu became furious.
She raised her hand, ready to slap her.
However, Wu Yuxin quickly stopped her.
Holding Ye Feilu's arm, she asked in a cold voice,
"Who are you, and why are you doing this?"
"Why am I doing this?"
The girl with glasses stared hatefully at Ye Feilu.
"Why don't you ask her?"
"Huh?"
Ye Feilu looked completely confused.
"Who even are you? I don't know you at all."
"You don't know me, but I know you!"
The girl gritted her teeth.
"You're the one who stole my fiancé, you shameless fox!"
"Stole your fiancé?"
Ye Feilu became even more confused. After hearing that, Wu Yuxin thought for a moment before asking,
"What's your name? And who is your fiancé?"
"Hmph. Why should I tell you?"
"If you don't tell us, we'll report you to the Academic Affairs Office."
Wu Yuxin's voice remained cold.
"You damaged school property and intentionally tried to harm another student. Those two offenses alone are enough to get you expelled."
Hearing that, the girl finally seemed intimidated. With obvious reluctance, she answered,
"My name is Su Wenwen. I transferred to Winston last week."
"As for my fiancé... his name is Zhou Qikuan."
"Zhou Qikuan is your fiancé?"
Ye Feilu was completely shocked.
"That's right."
Su Wenwen nodded.
"Ever since the National Day holiday ended, Qikuan started becoming very cold toward me. Later, I found out it was all because of you, you shameless fox!"
"I..."
Ye Feilu did not know whether to laugh or cry. She truly had no idea that Zhou Qikuan already had a fiancée.
Besides, she only had a small crush on him before. Right now, they were nothing more than friends.
Afterward, to make sure Su Wenwen would not keep targeting her in the future, Ye Feilu honestly explained that she and Zhou Qikuan were just ordinary friends.
To prevent any further misunderstanding, she even promised not to contact Zhou Qikuan anymore.
After hearing the explanation, Su Wenwen apologized to her and swore that she would never do such things again.
Because of this incident, the little bit of affection Ye Feilu had developed for Zhou Qikuan during their trip to the beach completely disappeared.
She truly had not expected him to be the kind of person who already had a fiancée yet still flirted with other girls.
