Chapter 86: It’s Sweet Here Too

After finishing their meal, Su Moyu pulled Bai Shuchuan into a fresh food supermarket to buy ingredients.

Bai Shuchuan felt that maybe this was just another one of Su Moyu’s short-lived interests.

Although he knew she had always had a strange kind of enthusiasm for cooking, from childhood until now, the only thing she had ever successfully made was a simple tomato and egg noodle dish.

“Let’s buy a little chicken wings first, some eggs, and noodles,” Su Moyu said softly. “You go get the seasonings!”

Bai Shuchuan didn’t really know what “seasonings” meant, but he still turned around and walked toward that section.

Su Moyu might not be good at cooking, but she at least had a rough idea of what to prepare.

Bai Shuchuan liked shrimp. Although she didn’t know how to make fancy dishes like braised shrimp, she felt confident she could at least make a simple boiled shrimp dish.

Just wait until tomorrow noon, she would surprise him!

She had already imagined his shocked expression and started feeling proud.

She picked up a bottle of dipping sauce from the shelf, and suddenly a strange thought came to her mind.

Why did she feel like she was becoming… a bit like a housewife?

Looking down at the bottles and ingredients in her hands, she suddenly imagined those classic “wife” characters from anime.

Wasn’t she basically the same as them now?

Only then did Su Moyu suddenly realize that she seemed to have already gotten used to… no, even prepared herself, for the role of being a “wife.”

That strange sense of embarrassment rose again, but she quickly pushed it down.

She had already called him “husband” before, and they had already done what couples do…

Thinking of that, Su Moyu suddenly remembered something even more serious.

“Cream puff.”

The word suddenly came to her mind, and with her imagination, she immediately connected it to what happened last night.

She swallowed and quickly forced those messy thoughts out of her head.

She looked around nervously, feeling like she was being ridiculous.

She quickly finished shopping and went to pay, then stood at the supermarket entrance holding the bags, waiting for Bai Shuchuan.

When Bai Shuchuan came out carrying his things, Su Moyu lifted the bag of shrimp and waved it in front of him.

“I bought shrimp, you like these,” she said with a smile.

Bai Shuchuan nodded. “Thank you.”

“I’m definitely going to make it delicious,” Su Moyu said confidently. “You have to believe me.”

To be honest, Bai Shuchuan wasn’t completely sure.

But seeing how confident she looked, he didn’t want to discourage her.

“Okay, I’ll look forward to it.”

“Look forward to it a lot,” Su Moyu said, handing all the bags to him. “You’re stronger, you carry them.”

Bai Shuchuan took the bags from Su Moyu and saw her take out a lollipop from her pocket and put it in her mouth.

He smiled at her with a bit of affection. Su Moyu glanced at him lightly.

“I just felt like eating one since it’s been a long time,” she explained. “And this one is from Chupa Chups.”

“Okay,” Bai Shuchuan replied honestly. That immediately made Su Moyu want to tease him.

After they walked out of the supermarket, Su Moyu looked at the things in his hands and felt they were quite heavy, so she suggested taking a taxi. Bai Shuchuan nodded, and they stood by the roadside waiting.

Bai Shuchuan looked at the people across the street. From the corner of his eye, he noticed Su Moyu’s head leaning closer. When he looked down, he saw her smiling sweetly at him, then taking the lollipop out of her mouth.

“It’s really tasty. Want to try?” she asked with a smile.

Bai Shuchuan felt a bit reluctant at first. He looked at the lollipop in her hand. The candy surface looked shiny and wet, which made him think of how she looked when she had just woken up earlier.

But if he refused, she might start making a fuss and say he disliked her.

That would be troublesome.

“I’ll pass,” Bai Shuchuan said. “You can eat it yourself.”

Su Moyu frowned slightly. Bai Shuchuan cleared his throat, already thinking about how to comfort her.

He lowered his eyes and saw her slowly put the candy back into her mouth.

Her movements were slow. When he saw the tip of her tongue, he realized she was doing it on purpose for him to see.

When she noticed his gaze, she smiled faintly.

“What’s wrong? Don’t you like sweet things?” she asked playfully, her tone rising and falling like a TV host talking to kids.

Before he could answer, she lightly bit her lip and tilted her head back a little. His eyes naturally fell on her lips.

“It’s sweet here too, you know. Want to try?” she said in a playful voice, lightly touching her lips with her finger. Her lips looked soft and shiny, like candy.

Bai Shuchuan swallowed and looked away instinctively. Su Moyu smiled even more happily.

“Fine, I guess I’m the only one who likes sweet things… mm—!”

Before she could finish, Bai Shuchuan suddenly kissed her.

A sudden sense of embarrassment rushed through her, and her face quickly turned red.

“I like it too,” Bai Shuchuan said calmly.

Su Moyu was left speechless, her heart beating very fast.

Wait, why did he suddenly kiss her, and in public, with so many people around?

She looked at him with a bit of complaint, only to see him lick his lips with a satisfied look.

“Vanilla ice cream flavor,” he said softly.

She lightly punched his arm, but it was soft and had no strength.

“Pervert,” Su Moyu said, but her tone sounded more like she was acting cute.

“I want to try again,” Bai Shuchuan said, knowing she was shy.
