Chapter 98: Anything You Want to Eat?
Not long after finishing class, Su Moyu went straight to her part-time place.
Bai Shuchuan was working at the convenience store across the street. Since she hadn’t seen him for a while, she decided to stop by the store and buy something, and see him at the same time.
She pushed the door open and immediately saw him standing at the cashier. He was wearing a small apron and didn’t notice her coming in.
There weren’t many customers, so Su Moyu walked to the shelf and picked up a pack of sanitary pads.
When she turned and walked to the counter, she saw Bai Shuchuan chatting and laughing with a female staff member. She instantly felt a little jealous.
“Yeah, American Shorthair cats are very cute. Ragdolls are more clingy, they like people to stay with them a lot,” the girl said with a smile.
“Oh, I see,” Bai Shuchuan replied.
“Ah, there’s a customer,” the girl kindly reminded him.
Only then did Bai Shuchuan turn his attention back. When he saw Su Moyu, he froze for a moment, surprise showing on his face.
“Why are you here?”
He took the item she handed over and realized it was a pack of sanitary pads.
Su Moyu pouted slightly. The way he said it made it sound like she shouldn’t be here.
“I came to buy something… and to see you,” she replied, secretly glancing at the other girl.
Bai Shuchuan scanned the item and carefully packed it for her.
“When do you start work this afternoon?” he asked.
She gave a small “hm.” “I’ll be going soon.”
“Okay,” he said. “Want to have dinner together tonight?”
Su Moyu felt like he was being a bit too polite.
“If not with me, then who else would you eat with?” she asked with a smile, taking the bag from him. “Do you have someone else to eat with?”
He smiled helplessly. “No.”
“Then come find me after your shift,” she said softly, like she was claiming him. “Got it?”
He nodded. “Okay.”
Only then did she leave the store, satisfied.
Maybe this is what being in love feels like. Just now, she even wanted him to pat her head.
Thinking about it made her feel a strange sense of embarrassment.
So unreasonable…
It felt like she was completely under some kind of spell…
Everything she did made her think of Bai Shuchuan.
She walked into the logistics warehouse, found a cabinet under the counter to store her things, and started working diligently.
The job itself was simple, scan the packages, register them, and place them on the shelves. Heavy lifting wasn’t her job. After all, she was now a “delicate girl,” so the physical work was left to her coworkers.
But working while feeling unwell was still exhausting.
After a whole afternoon, she felt like she was falling apart.
When she placed the last package on the shelf, it was finally time to get off work.
She stretched and walked out of the station, only to see Bai Shuchuan waiting for her on the street.
The sunset was just right that day. The soft light fell on him, and he gave her a gentle smile, full of warmth.
“I’m so tired today,” she said, throwing herself into his arms and pouting.
“You worked hard,” he said, gently patting her head.
“Let’s go home and cook something nice,” she said softly.

The next few days passed in a similar way.
“Finally!” Su Moyu cheered as she came out of the bathroom.
Bai Shuchuan, who was sitting by the bed playing games, looked up at Su Moyu.
“What’s wrong?”
Right now, Su Moyu felt completely relaxed.
After being troubled for almost a week, the annoying bleeding had finally stopped.
“My period is over,” she said with a bright smile, like a child proudly showing off a medal from school. “I’m finally free!”
Of course, Bai Shuchuan couldn’t truly understand how she felt. After all, he had never been a girl…
But seeing how she had been uncomfortable these past few days, back pain, dizziness, mood swings, he knew that having a period was not easy.
And it had happened because of that “accident” between them.
Thinking about this, he felt like he should make it up to her a little.
“Then how about we have a nice meal tonight to celebrate?”
Su Moyu nodded. “Okay!”
“You can decide what to eat,” he said.
She sat on the bed and leaned against his shoulder.
Bai Shuchuan hadn’t had much time to play games lately. Today was rare, his schedule was empty, and the teacher didn’t pull him away to help in the lab.
“You… really don’t have anything you want to eat?” Su Moyu asked softly, staring at his face with her bright eyes.
He turned to look at her. When their eyes met, she narrowed her eyes slightly, looking very gentle and obedient.
“Then… how about hot pot?” he suggested.
Seeing how serious he looked, Su Moyu suddenly lost the mood to tease him.
Did this guy really have no other thoughts at all?
She honestly wondered if he just wasn’t interested in that kind of thing…
But when it actually came to it, she was always the one getting tired, so what was going on?
Originally, she had wanted him to give her a little hint so she could play a bit of ‘push and pull.’
“We already had hot pot,” she reminded him, brushing her hair aside. “I want buffet.”
“Then let’s go for it,” he replied quickly.
“But it’s a bit expensive.”
“It’s fine. We can always earn more money.”
Su Moyu felt like she might actually be more impulsive with money than him…
Bai Shuchuan might not be great with romance, but when it came to money, something that didn’t need emotions, he was much better than her.
“How much money do we still have this month?” she asked, taking out her phone to check her bank balance. “I still have 1,500.”
“I have more than 3,000,” he replied.
Her eyes widened.
“How do you have so much?!”
“I don’t know. I already had quite a bit when I first came here.”
Su Moyu crossed her arms and looked at him suspiciously.
“I get it now. The original Bai Shuchuan must have secretly saved some private money behind the original Su Moyu’s back.”
He frowned, not really understanding her logic.
“That doesn’t seem necessary, does it?” he said helplessly.
“Then will you secretly hide money from me?”
She hugged his arm, rubbed her head against his shoulder, and asked softly.
“Of course not,” he replied.
“Then if I ever find out, it all belongs to me.”
“Okay.”
