Chapter 347: Test

In the past, An Han used to come to the school track and run three times a week.

Back then, her body was thin like a bamboo stick, short and skinny. The kind of person who couldn’t gain weight no matter how much she ate. Because she was so weak, all she thought about was running and exercising to gain some weight.

When she was still male, her stamina was average. Running a few kilometers was tiring, but she could still finish it. After becoming female, running 1,000 or 1,800 meters was also not much of a problem. Her stamina was probably still a bit better than a normal girl who never exercised.

After class in the evening, An Han went to the track by herself.

It was only six o’clock, but the sky was already completely dark. Since class had just ended, there weren’t many students on the field.

Her mind was still full of what happened at noon. She spent the whole afternoon too shy to talk much to Su Peng. Meanwhile, Su Peng seemed very happy today. He even went to deliver food with a big smile.

“I really hope the stamina point works normally. At least it should make my sacrifice worth it.”

Talking to herself, An Han stepped onto the track and began jogging.

She hadn’t run in a long time, and after just a little more than 100 meters, she already felt something was wrong. Her breathing and heartbeat suddenly became fast.

She frowned and tried to feel her energy carefully.

She didn’t feel the stamina point helping at all! It even felt worse than a few months ago!

After only a few hundred meters, she was already gasping for air. The cold air sliding down her throat made her mouth dry, and even breathing started to hurt.

After two laps, An Han hanging her head, rested her hands on her knees at the edge of the track.

Her hair was wet with sweat and stuck to her forehead and cheeks. Her calves were slightly sore. Confused, she looked up at the track and muttered, “Where’s the stamina increase? Wasn’t it supposed to go up by one?”

She had even thought this would help her run faster when chasing her little sister someday, so she wouldn’t get angry from not catching her.

She also hoped she would have enough energy to keep running. But now, there was no point in testing.

“Does it only work when I reach my limit?”

“Stupid system…”

An Han wiped the sweat from her face and pushed away the strands of hair sticking to her skin and making her itchy.

“So annoying. I’ll try two more laps.”

More students slowly came to the track. Sometimes she even saw a few classmates.

Those classmates had a good impression of her because of her looks, but she didn’t know them well. When they greeted her, she only nodded back.

After resting for a few minutes, she started jogging again, quietly complaining about the system in her heart while trying to guess what the stamina stat actually did.

Maybe the system’s “stamina” meant energy? Something that helps her not get tired so fast when playing games?

In games, stamina usually means health, or maybe it increases health recovery speed, or how long you can sprint…

Hmm, endurance?

An Han suddenly felt she caught an important word. If she used the system’s usual shameless behavior to guess.

Body stat meant bust-waist-hip size, Sensitivity stat meant physical sensitivity…

Her calf suddenly cramped hard, her mind went blank, and she stopped with her teeth clenched.

“A cramp! Ah—!”

In cold weather at night, she sometimes woke up from cramps. After not running for so long, this was normal.

But it hurt so much!

She didn’t dare put down the leg that was cramping, but it hurt so much that she didn’t even have the strength to hop on her right leg. She could only sit down slowly on the ground with a pale face, hug her cramping left leg, and cry in her heart.

She carefully used her hand to rub her calf, but it felt like a little worm was twisting inside the muscle. The more she rubbed, the stronger the pain became.

An Han’s eyes were full of tears. She finally couldn’t endure it and let out a soft cry of pain.

Even a normal man might not be able to endure a cramp, and she still had that “sensitive attribute” added on. The pain that was already strong became even stronger, making her feel like the leg didn’t even belong to her anymore.

Shaking, she took out her phone and called Su Peng while sobbing.

“Hello? What is it? I’m delivering food right now, I don’t really have time, you—”

But Su Peng heard An Han’s weak cry of pain and the sound of her sniffling. He froze for a moment, then asked in a panic, “What happened? Did someone bully you? Weren’t you going out for a run?”

“I got a cramp… it hurts so much…”

“This…” Su Peng paused. “A cramp will get better after a while.”

“But it really hurts.”

She didn’t know why, but after complaining to Su Peng on the phone for a bit, the pain from the cramp seemed to ease a little.

“I’ll come over now. You’re at the track field, right?”

Only then did An Han hang up. She looked around and saw that she was sitting on the edge of the track, blocking other students who were jogging. So she lifted her left leg and used both hands on the ground to move herself off the track.

It still hurt!

She really should have warmed up first if she hadn’t run in a long time.

Thankfully she ran slowly. Otherwise, after cramping, she might have fallen flat on her face.

But before Su Peng arrived, the pain from the cramp slowly disappeared. Her left calf only felt sore now.

She tried standing up and let out a breath of relief.

It didn’t hurt anymore…

“Why do I want to call Su Peng every time something happens?”

Now that the pain was gone, An Han entered a “clear-headed mode,” thinking about what she had just done.

“I definitely can’t have kids in the future…” she sighed as she walked to the bleachers beside the track and sat down, massaging her calf again. “I already heard giving birth is super painful, and with this ‘sensitive attribute,’ I’d probably faint from the pain on the operating table.”

“Or maybe I’ll get used to it little by little?”

She muttered to herself and looked up, only to see a bicycle riding toward her.

Su Peng’s bike still had the food-delivery box on it. He got off, ran over while panting, and asked with concern, “How is it? Is the cramp better? Should I take you to the clinic?”

“Um… it’s much better now.”

Feeling guilty, An Han quietly avoided Su Peng’s eyes.

He rushed all the way here while working, just because she had a small cramp… and now she was completely fine.

Who knew how many orders he would be late for because of this, and how many people would yell at him?

“As long as you’re okay.” Su Peng let out a breath of relief and pulled out a pack of tissues from his pocket. “Wipe your tears. They look really messy on your face.”

“Really?”

An Han quickly wiped her cheeks and eyes with her hand before opening the tissue to clean her face.

“So why did you come running for fun?” Su Peng joked. “And you even ran yourself into a cramp.”

“I used to run often and never had a problem.”

She tried to defend herself, lowered her head, and said in a small voice, “Go deliver your orders, don’t be late.”

“It’s fine. At worst I get scolded a bit. Most deliveries around the campus aren’t on time anyway.”

She looked up at Su Peng’s gentle smile and still couldn’t understand why this guy made her feel so safe.
