Chapter 352: School
A new day of “being locked up” was about to start again.
Su Peng rushed to catch the bus to go to work, while An Han rode her bicycle into the school with a lifeless expression.
When she reached the bike shed near the teaching building, she jumped off the bike and squatted down to lock it.
Putting aside the question of whether she will have children in the future, the immediate problem was that she currently didn’t have a single female friend.
She couldn’t really attend class seriously, right? Well… it wasn’t impossible…
“Here so early?”
Hearing someone call her, An Han lifted her head and looked toward Ren Chi, who was not far away.
“Counselor~ morning!”
Even though she lived in the same neighborhood as Ren Chi, they rarely met there. This guy didn’t show up much in daily life, and most things were announced in the class group chat. No one knew what he was busy with.
Ren Chi was in a good mood. He walked up to An Han with a smile and glanced at her, shaking his head while sighing.
When he first met this student, she had been a thin, overly lively little “boy.” But in the blink of an eye, that little boy had grown into a surprisingly beautiful girl.
Her completely flat chest back then, which could be described as “board-flat”, had now suddenly become a proud “mountain.”
Today, An Han was wearing rather fitted clothes. Her jacket couldn’t hide her curvy figure, her jeans were stretched tightly by her well-shaped legs, and her round hips and slim waist made every part of her body attractive to any man.
Ren Chi really couldn’t understand how she managed to change so much. Did she get some kind of body-shaping cosmetic surgery?
“Where’s Su Peng?”
“He started work yesterday. Do you need something from him?”
After locking her bike, An Han stood up and calmly faced Ren Chi’s appreciative gaze.
At first, she had felt shy and embarrassed when people noticed her body. But now she had slowly gotten used to it, even feeling a little proud.
Besides, because of her sensitive nature, she could tell that Ren Chi’s eyes weren’t strange, just curious and admiring.
“Su Peng’s parents called me yesterday. They said they had some conflict and wanted me to talk to him.”
They walked toward the teaching building side by side. An Han was only half a head shorter than Ren Chi, and when they walked together she would unconsciously stand on her toes a little, as if trying to balance out the height difference in her mind.
After becoming a girl, her height didn’t become shorter, but she had never been tall to begin with. Her height, around 167 cm, was somewhat awkward among southern girls. If she wore heels, she would seem too tall and give people pressure. Without heels, she always had to look up at others.
“I heard Su Peng was supposed to study abroad? At a top-ten university too.”
“Yeah, but he didn’t want to go. I tried to talk to him.”
“You should talk to him more. Studying abroad is good for gaining life experience.”
Ren Chi seemed quite concerned about this matter. “Even if he doesn’t want to go abroad, he shouldn’t keep fighting with his parents like this, right?”
“Hmm?”
Su Peng indeed planned to resist until the end, unless his parents backed down first.
“After all, they’re still family. Try to persuade him to go home and talk.”
But An Han looked at Ren Chi with suspicion. “Brother Ren, they didn’t give you money for this, did they?”
“Stop talking nonsense!” His smiling eyes widened a bit from shock, and Ren Chi raised his voice in annoyance. “This is me caring about my student’s life! It’s my job!”
“Since when does ‘caring’ include getting involved in a family’s private matters…” An Han muttered, confused.
“Anyway, talk to Su Peng.”
“No way. I think he’s doing just fine right now.”
She shook her head quickly. There was no way she would betray Su Peng like that.
Ever since her father visited once, she truly understood what it felt like to have parents with too much control. So from then on, she firmly took Su Peng’s side.
Even if Su Peng decided never to rely on his family for the rest of his life, she wouldn’t mind at all.
Ren Chi wanted to say more, but An Han hated long nagging speeches, so she ran off without hesitation.
“Hey!”
Ren Chi froze for a moment but could only shake his head as he watched her run away.
It was still early, there were still twenty full minutes before class. When An Han arrived at the classroom required for the course, only a few students were scattered around inside.
An Han looked around, trying to find a seat in the corner.
“Here, here!”
Lin Yi, who was sitting in the third row, was already waving at her with both hands.
There were two other unfamiliar girls sitting next to Lin Yi. They were probably her roommates. An Han often saw them hanging out together for class or meals.
After hesitating for a moment, An Han walked over.
“An Han~” Lin Yi happily grabbed her arm. “From now on, sit next to me, okay? If class gets boring, we can talk.”
“Mm… okay, sure.”
An Han straightened her back and sat very upright.
Being with Lin Yi was fine, since they had known each other for some time. But the two unfamiliar girls who were staring at her made her feel tense.
She glanced at the two girls and awkwardly realized that even after being classmates for three years, she still didn’t remember their names.
“Do you want some snacks?” Lin Yi took out a half-opened bag of chips from her desk drawer.
“I… um, thank you.”
An Han actually didn’t like snacks very much, but she still took two chips and put them in her mouth.
Hmm… the taste was strange…
She forced a smile and quickly peeked at the words on the package.
Cucumber flavor?
“An Han, what do you do for skin care? Your skin looks so good~”
The unfamiliar girl leaned forward curiously.
“I… don’t really do skin care.”
“So nice~ You never get pimples?”
“Maybe just a little…?”
An Han answered stiffly. Then the other girl also asked,
“Why did you live in the boys’ dorm before?”
“……”
How was she supposed to explain that?!
If she had known this would happen, she would have brought her system items! Maybe she could have grown some more hair too.
An Han could only keep a straight face and pretend she didn’t hear anything.
She wasn’t good at talking to strangers. Her usual lively behavior only showed when she was with close friends. With people she didn’t know, she couldn’t act friendly naturally.
Seeing that she wasn’t responding, the two unfamiliar girls whispered to each other.
“She’s so cold~ She’s not as cute as Lin Yi said.”
“Pretty and cold… don’t you think that’s kind of cool~?”
Cold… aloof…
An Han vaguely heard their whispers and couldn’t help complaining in her heart.
No one had ever called her “cold” in her whole life.
More students slowly arrived, and the quiet classroom quickly became noisy.
Class was about to start. Lin Yi hurriedly stuffed the rest of the chips into her mouth, her cheeks puffed up like a hamster, making little crunching sounds.
She quickly swallowed the chips. There were crumbs all over her clothes, but she didn’t care. She patted her pants, hooked an arm around An Han’s shoulder, and leaned close:
“An Han~ come with me to a mixer this weekend!”
“Huh?”
An Han was confused. “What mixer?”
“It’s just eating, drinking, and making new friends!”
She felt a little interested, since she really needed more friends now. But in her mind, a mixer was a place where single men and women looked for partners.
She shook her head and said, “I have a boyfriend.”
“Come on~ pleeease~”
An Han had a headache. She was afraid that if she didn’t agree soon, the constant pushing would trigger a mission.
“If Su Peng goes, I’ll go!”
