Chapter 362: Everyday Life of a Couple

When the back of his head was pushed down, when his body leaned forward, and his face was buried in An Han’s shoulder, Su Peng almost instinctively wanted to pull away.

But after trying to move twice, he felt the strength in An Han’s arms that didn’t allow him to refuse.

His tense body slowly relaxed. He rested his forehead on An Han’s shoulder, closed his eyes, breathed in the soft milky scent mixed with her sweet smell, and let out a quiet sigh.

She still noticed his bad mood.

A grown man being comforted like this by a girl… it was really a bit embarrassing.

He held back the tears that almost came out and took deep breaths to calm himself.

At first, he only felt a little wronged because of working overtime and being scolded by his leader. Feeling upset was normal, and he thought he would get over it slowly. But after An Han comforted him, he almost couldn’t hold it together.

An Han gently stroked his hair, and he silently pressed his face against her chest.

Until a certain “disobedient little brother” lifted its head and pressed against An Han’s lower belly…

“Can you not poke me when I am kindly comforting you?”

“……”

Su Peng froze in embarrassment, not daring to move. He could only explain in a low voice, “You know… this can’t be controlled. It has its own ideas.”

Besides, his lips were almost touching her chest! And she wasn’t wearing a bra. He was still a man, having some reaction was way too normal!

An Han let go of him without saying anything, returned to her duck-sitting pose, hands on the sofa, and looked at him like he was some kind of pervert.

“I was feeling sorry for you, and you were thinking about my body.”

“I wasn’t…”

Su Peng turned his head away guiltily. At that moment, the microwave beeped from the kitchen. He jumped up quickly and changed the topic. “The food is heated. I’ll go get it.”

“Don't change the subject!” An Han glared angrily at his back.

“The microwave is too small. I have to heat another plate. Let’s eat the ones already warm first, okay?”

Two minutes later, Su Peng brought bowls back to the living room, placed two dishes on the table, and handed An Han a pair of chopsticks. “Hurry and eat. From now on, don’t wait for me for dinner. If I’m hungry, I know how to eat outside.”

“I don’t like eating alone. And cooking for two is cheaper.”

An Han picked up a piece of soy-sauce braised fish, put the soft meat in her mouth, and quickly asked, “Try it! Tell me if it tastes good. It’s my first time making soy-sauce fish.”

“You don’t have this dish in your hometown?”

“In my hometown, we usually steam fish or cook it in soup. There’s sweet-and-sour and red-braised fish too, but I’ve never heard of soy-sauce fish.”

Su Peng sat beside her. His eyes drifted to her long white legs under the oversized shirt. He swallowed hard, and because he remembered what happened earlier, he felt even more embarrassed. He looked around, then grabbed a sofa cushion and hugged it in front of him.

His not-so-subtle move earned a look of contempt from An Han. “Don’t bother hiding. As if I don’t know.”

“……”

An Han also covered her legs with a blanket. Not because she was shy about him looking, but because her legs were cold and starting to shake.

“I’m taking a day off tomorrow.”

“Another day off?”

“Yeah. I’ll just say the school needs me. Interns can easily get leave.” Su Peng shoveled food into his mouth, only lifting his head between bites. “I came home nearly at midnight. If I have to wake up early tomorrow, I won’t make it.”

An Han’s eyes lit up, and she nodded happily. “Then we can watch Dongming wear the women’s clothes together!”

“After we see him wear the outfit, let’s go out, okay? We haven’t gone out for fun in so long. Maybe watch a movie or eat something nice!”

But then she frowned, touching her lower lip with her chopsticks, and mumbled, “But the fridge is still full of food… Auntie bought too many things when she came. If we don’t eat them soon, they’ll go bad.”

Su Peng shrugged. “I’m fine with anything, as long as it doesn’t make me too tired.”

Ever since he started working, he always felt drained when he came back to the rented apartment. Going out to play wasn’t nearly as tempting as just lying in bed.

At least when he lay in bed, there was a cute girl warming the blanket.

By the time they finished eating, it was already midnight.

An Han covered her mouth and yawned sleepily. She was too tired to wash the dishes, so she just threw the bowls and chopsticks into the sink and walked straight to the bedroom.

“You go shower first. I need to sleep.”

“Are we sleeping together tonight?”

“Again…?”

She shot Su Peng a displeased glare, nodded, and complained, “Every time we sleep together, you like to touch here and there and disturb my sleep.”

“This time I definitely won’t.”

“Tch~”

Back in the bedroom, she crawled under the blanket, stretched comfortably, hugged the blanket, squeezed it between her legs, lay on her side, and closed her eyes while yawning non-stop.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom. She had been sleepy after eating, but lying in bed listening to the water, she suddenly didn’t feel sleepy anymore.

She tried to force herself to feel tired again, but soon Su Peng finished showering and climbed into the bed wearing only a pair of loose shorts.

His warm arm brushed against her back, making her jump.

“Don’t touch me!” She warned him sharply.

“Mm, sleep.”

Su Peng lay flat and even pulled back his arm to avoid touching her. Then he moved toward the edge of the bed, giving her about two-thirds of the space.

A moment later, An Han turned her head slightly to look at him.

Her face was a little red. She pressed her lips together and lay back down, closing her eyes, but her mind was full of messy, embarrassing thoughts. She felt nervous and shy, expectant but uncomfortable. She bit her lower lip and stared at the curtains across from her.

After a long time, she turned over to face Su Peng.

“Su Peng~”

“Are you asleep?”

She pushed herself up, leaned over, and moved closer to Su Peng, looking down at his face.

His breathing was even, with a light snore. He didn’t react at all to her movements. He really seemed to be asleep.

“Tsk!”

What kind of person is this!

When he needs something, he sticks to her and wants her to “help.” But when she needs something, he just falls asleep!

Usually when she’s super sleepy, Su Peng insists on touching her and makes her excited so she can’t sleep. Now it’s the opposite.

“Su Peng?” she called softly again, unwilling to give up.

“Stop it, I’m sleeping.”

Su Peng had been woken up, but he kept his eyes closed. As he turned over, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into his arms.

An Han fell onto the bed with his strength, and his hand, almost instinctively, moved up and grabbed the mountain peak.

Her whole body froze. She didn’t dare to move or speak. Her bright eyes stared at his face, so close to hers, waiting for what he would do next.

After a moment, his steady, heavy breathing started again.

“……”

An Han rolled her eyes hopelessly.

Even if you’re going to sleep properly, can you not sleep right next to my ear? Your breathing is as loud as snoring!
