Chapter 21: Shamelessly Being a Jerk

"Let go of that girl!"

Qin Siyu had just returned to the medical room. Before she even walked in, she heard a girl inside shouting, "Pervert!"

The moment she entered, she saw a beautiful girl sitting on the bed with one of her shoes and socks already taken off. Across from her was a young man lying on the floor after being kicked down.

Qin Siyu understood what must have happened in an instant. Without hesitation, she aimed a kick at Chen Chen.

Luckily, Tian Siyi reacted quickly and pulled Chen Chen away. Otherwise, there might have been another person lying on the bed a moment later.

She quickly explained, "Instructor, you've got the wrong idea!"

Seeing the girl speak up for him, Qin Siyu stopped attacking and looked at them with confusion.

Now that the danger had passed, Tian Siyi continued, "We're friends. I twisted my ankle, and he brought me here."

"Oh..." Qin Siyu nodded, but then immediately asked, "Then why were you calling him a pervert just now?"

"Well..." Tian Siyi lowered her head. It was really too embarrassing to explain.

She wanted to make up an excuse, but she couldn't think of one.

"I smelled her foot," Chen Chen said. One simple sentence made Tian Siyi even more embarrassed.

Qin Siyu's mind went blank for a moment. After a short pause, she calmly said, "It's fine if young people like trying unusual things, but you should still be careful. Some unhealthy habits can lead to health problems."

"Did you hear that? Be more careful!" Tian Siyi lightly kicked Chen Chen, who was still sitting on the floor, reminding him.

Chen Chen shook his head. "We're not that kind of couple. We're just ordinary friends."

Qin Siyu nodded. "I know, I know. Just ordinary friends."

Ordinary friends?

Would ordinary friends smell each other's feet?

Still, Qin Siyu didn't bother exposing their lie. Young people were shy. That was normal.

Chen Chen sighed to himself. It didn't matter whether she believed him or not. She was only the military doctor at the training camp, and they probably wouldn't meet again after this.

"How's your foot? Feeling better?" Qin Siyu slowly walked over to Tian Siyi, her eyes falling on the girl's fair, delicate foot.

No wonder that boy had wanted to smell it. It was a really beautiful foot, the kind that even many girls would admire.

The only problem was the obvious swelling on it now.

"It's much better. It wasn't that serious to begin with. If tomorrow wasn't the start of military training, I probably wouldn't have come here. I just wanted to put some medicine on it so it would heal faster."

Qin Siyu crouched down and examined it carefully.

"Does it hurt here?"

"Hiss..."

As soon as Qin Siyu gently pressed it with her finger, Tian Siyi sucked in a sharp breath.

There was no need for an answer. Her reaction said everything.

"It really isn't a serious injury, but you still need to rest. Don't take part in military training for the next few days."

"Huh? There's actually something this good?" Hearing that she didn't have to join military training, Tian Siyi clapped her hands happily.

What had started as something bad had ended with her becoming the biggest winner.

Chen Chen was also surprised. He hadn't expected such a small injury to be enough to excuse her from military training.

"Really? Is that okay?" he asked uncertainly.

Qin Siyu smiled. "No problem. I'll talk to your instructor. Starting tomorrow, you'll stay with me and help me with some simple tasks."

"Okay!" Tian Siyi agreed without even thinking.

Normally, there wasn't much work to do in the medical room. And compared to standing under the burning 40-degree sun during military training, this was an easy choice. There was nothing to think about.

"You'll start work at the same time as everyone else's military training. Be here at 6:30 in the morning, and don't be late."

"Don't worry!" The news that she didn't have to join military training made Tian Siyi look excited and happy.

Qin Siyu nodded. She was very pleased to have such a cute little helper.

"But don't celebrate too soon. Someone has to stay on duty at night too. Your shift won't officially end until 9 p.m."

Tian Siyi waved her hand.

"That's fine. There's air conditioning here anyway, so it's all the same."

"Alright. You can both head back now. Oh, right, my name is Qin Siyu. You can call me Sister Qin. I still don't know your name."

"My name is Tian Siyi."

"Alright, you two can go now."

After saying goodbye to Qin Siyu, Tian Siyi happily skipped out of the medical room. But after only taking a couple of steps, she frowned and let out a soft hiss of pain.

Chen Chen couldn't help laughing.

"Your injury isn't even healed yet, and you've already forgotten it hurts?"

"You're laughing at me?" She puffed out her cheeks and lightly punched him over and over with her little fists.

Since she couldn't move around well, Chen Chen easily avoided all of her attacks.

"You're injured, but you've still got quite a temper."

"And you're still running away! Get over here and help me!"

"Come on, are you really going to act like a patient? Is it really that serious?" Chen Chen had already looked at it. It was just a normal sprained ankle. A few days of rest and she'd be fine.

"If it wasn't serious, how could I get out of military training? Besides, I'm a girl now. Can you really walk beside me and not help me at all?"

Tian Siyi blinked her big, innocent-looking eyes and looked at Chen Chen with a pitiful expression.

He had to admit that she was very good at using her advantages. Even though he knew she was pretending, he still couldn't bring himself to refuse.

"Alright, alright. I really can't do anything about you." Chen Chen lifted her arm over his shoulder and helped her walk.

Tian Siyi giggled.

"Looks like I'm pretty good at acting cute too. I could be like Zhou Jiajia."

"Please don't become another Zhou Jiajia... Are you actually proud of being a player?"

Just hearing the name Zhou Jiajia made Chen Chen react. Tian Siyi clearly felt his body tremble without him even noticing.

"What's wrong with being a player? A player has lots of people who like her. And judging by how you acted just now, it seems to work on you too."

Just as Tian Siyi had said, Chen Chen found it hard to refuse a girl who looked at him with such a pitiful expression.

Still, when she said she wanted to be a player, he didn't take it seriously.

"Then why did you reject that guy this morning?"

"I don't even know him. It wouldn't be nice to mess with someone I don't know."

"So you only mess with people you know?"

Tian Siyi proudly lifted her chin.

"Of course. The only people I mess with are people who deserve it. So I don't feel guilty at all."

When Chen Chen helped Tian Siyi to the cafeteria, they happened to run into her roommates, who had come to get food. She let go of Chen Chen's shoulder and limped over to them.

Zhao Xiaoqi immediately gave her a teasing smile.

"Oh? Where has our beautiful Tian been?"

Jiang Luyao noticed her foot and asked, "Did you get hurt?"

Tian Siyi smiled casually. "I accidentally twisted my ankle."

Jiang Luyao looked at her in confusion. "Then why do you look so happy?"

With a mischievous grin, Tian Siyi said, "I've got good news. I don't have to do military training anymore!"

Jiang Luyao quickly guessed why. "Because of your foot? Is it that bad?"

"Not really. But the instructor still told me to rest and not join the training."

Zhao Xiaoqi looked surprised. "Our instructor is that kind?"

"It wasn't our instructor. It was the beautiful instructor from the medical room."

"Does that mean I won't get to see you anymore?" Zhao Xiaoqi said with a sad face as she hugged Tian Siyi.

"What are you talking about? It's not like I died. While you're all doing military training, I'll just be helping out in the medical room."
