Chapter 74: The Report Card
The day after the concert, Li Nuo returned to school once again.
Today happened to be the tenth day of winter vacation, which was also the day students had to come back to school to collect their report cards.
At the moment, Li Nuo was lying weakly on his desk like a salted fish, not even wanting to move.

The letter grades represented students' regular performance.

C = Pass
D = Fail
In reality, teachers rarely gave failing grades. Unless a student constantly caused trouble or had a very bad attitude, they would usually receive at least a passing grade.

However, when Li Nuo looked at Zhou Qikuan's report card, he was stunned.
Other than PE, which was an A, almost every subject was graded C.
His English even received a D.

I hope you can put more effort into your studies next semester and improve your academic performance."
Most teacher comments like this were standard templates.
Students who caused trouble were described as lively and energetic.
Quiet students were described as calm and hardworking.
No matter how poor a student's performance was, the comments would usually focus on positive qualities.
Perhaps the goal was to avoid hurting the student's confidence.
Or perhaps the teachers simply did not think too much about it.
"Can I have my report card back now?" After finishing the comments, Li Nuo reached for it.
"Hold on. I just finished reading your comments. Let me read them out loud. You're a—"
Before he could continue, Li Nuo snatched the report card back.
"Read it out loud? Are you trying to embarrass me to death?"
He rolled his eyes.
"Haha. They're all compliments anyway. What's there to be afraid of?"
"Still no."
Li Nuo rejected the idea immediately.
Then he opened his own report card.
Most of his final exam scores were only slightly above the passing mark.
Math and physics were still somewhat below expectations, which was probably why he only received B grades in those subjects.
Further down were the teacher's comments for the semester.

You participate actively and responsibly in class activities and get along well with your classmates. However, you often become distracted during lessons. I hope you can improve this next semester."
Before reading it, Li Nuo had already guessed most of what it would say.
Looking at the empty seat beside him, he suddenly became curious.
