[Vol. 9] Chapter 116: What the Ice and Snow Hide
During that process, very few species could survive like the dragons did and pass their memories on to the next age. Most races were wiped out in that great disaster.
The beings and knowledge from the previous age were made taboo. The Primordial Light sealed everything related to them behind the mist called the [Unknowable]. Creatures of the current world could not touch or learn about those things.
At first, Violet believed that.
But if, as she guessed, this strange creature really came from the previous age, that would mean the old races were not completely erased after all.
Thinking more carefully, she wondered, is the [Unknowable] really just meant to stop later generations from learning about the past? Why did the being called the Primordial Light work so hard to hide those facts? For what reason?
Violet did not know. She only felt something odd. A small, growing chill of fear when she thought about it.
If the “re-creation of the world” was not only destruction, then deep under the world’s surface there may still be true secrets that have not been revealed.
A real, terrible “unknowable.”
The priestess suddenly understood something…
Maybe this was the truth that the God of the Azure Sea and Truth had once seen?
But how dreadful must that truth be, if even gods could not bear it?
“Lady Violet… what are you thinking? You look strange…”
Alexia reached up and poked her shoulder when she saw Violet frown for a long time. Tina had just finished arranging the fainted woman on a bed and came back.
“So what do we do now? If they went mad because of this thing, can we just clear them all out and solve the problem?” Tina asked.
Violet let out a soft breath and forced down her strong curiosity. She glanced at the blue dragon and then spoke again.
“That could work, but I don’t have time to deal with every small matter right now. Also, until we learn more about these unknown spirit-bodies, we don’t need to destroy them immediately.”
“Here’s the plan. I’ll leave a sealing barrier strong enough to stop the spread of that information pollution and prevent things from getting worse. Tina, you stay in the camp and keep things stable. Just hold the line for now. We’re going to find Xiao Guang right away.”
“Eh?”
The mercenary blinked, confused. “So what is this ‘information pollution’? And how do you know where Xiao Guang went? Hey, wait, slow down! I haven’t finished talking!”

But the situation turned out to be more complicated and changed faster than she expected. Since Xiao Guang had taken action first, Violet had no choice but to adjust and follow her Dragon God’s lead.
This time, Violet only brought the blue dragon girl, Alexia, with her. Even Veranica was left behind at the camp.
Although that woman clearly had some secrets, if this matter really involved a great mystery from the previous era, Veranica, with her barely adequate skill and a divine artifact she could hardly use properly, would only be a burden if she came along.
The hilly terrain around Salzburg was quite complex, and moving on foot would definitely cause many delays. So, after leaving the camp, the two spread their wings and took to the sky, flying straight toward the direction where they sensed the presence of [Yan] and the dragon girl.

It was about ten kilometers away from Salzburg, near the tallest snowy mountain in the surrounding area.
The heavy snow covered the whole mountain in white. The northern region was freezing cold, especially on the mountain peaks, so this place should have been a desolate area rarely visited by people.
But as they got closer, Alexia raised her eyebrows slightly, as if catching a scent. She looked surprised and said,
“Lady Violet, there’s a scent of living creatures down there and quite a lot of them! I can even smell thick blood and… resentment? A lot of people must have died here.”
