Chapter 387: Leaving Home
“Get up!”
Her mother knocked on the locked bedroom door. A moment later, An Han stuck her head out. “Mom, it’s only seven.”
“Aren’t you taking the train back to school today? Get up early so you won’t be late.”
Her mother looked past An Han’s head and into the room through the small gap.
The room was very neat. The bed was clean, the blanket was laid flat, and Su Peng was sleeping obediently on the floor, yawning again and again.
It looked normal, but that was exactly the strange part!
How could An Han ever neatly lay the blanket? Her bed was always a mess when she slept!
Her mother looked down at An Han. An Han blinked and showed an innocent smile.
“Mom, I’ll pack my things. What’s for breakfast?”
“Pot-edge rice crust.”
“Great! I haven’t had that in a long time! Go make it!”
Bang!
An Han shut the door. Less than two minutes later, Su Peng was pushed by the shoulder and stumbled out of the bedroom.
“We already did everything, and you’re still shy about changing clothes.”
Su Peng almost fell. He muttered as he looked up and saw his future mother-in-law just going downstairs. She seemed to hear him and gave him a cold look.
He shivered and quickly put on a polite smile. “Good morning, Auntie.”
“Mm.”
Mother nodded with no expression and continued downstairs.
Su Peng wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead. He felt that every extra day he stayed in An Han’s home, his life became a bit more dangerous.
He really needed to leave as soon as possible.
Luckily, her father wasn’t home. Otherwise, he might already be dead.
An Han soon came out of the room, wearing a white shirt and a short skirt, with a thin jacket over it. She hummed softly as she passed Su Peng. Her legs were still a bit weak, and she walked unevenly toward the bathroom down the hall.
“I have to go back to school again~ I don’t want to go to class~”
She had only been home for three days, but it felt like much longer.
She seemed to have “post-holiday syndrome” and felt strangely scared of going back to class.
Stretching and yawning, she walked into the bathroom. Just as she was about to close the door, Su Peng leaned over with a shameless smile.
“Use the bathroom downstairs. And hurry up and throw out the trash, don’t let my mom find it.”
“Okay.”
Su Peng hurried back to the bedroom to grab the trash bag.
An Han stood in front of the bathroom mirror and looked at herself.
In the mirror, her face looked pure and cute. The small mole under the corner of her eye wasn’t very noticeable, but it added a bit of charm. Maybe because she had been “well cared for,” her eyes now looked softer and more attractive, and her face had a faint, tempting feeling.
“Just my imagination…”
She lowered her head and splashed some cold water on her face, wiped it with a towel, and called it done. She was still a bit careless, keeping habits from when she was male, often too lazy to even use face wash.
“I have to say, Su Peng is pretty strong…”
Even though Su Peng might feel a little insecure, An Han knew her body had been enhanced by the system. Charm, skill, flexibility, stamina. She could even use voice skills to excite Su Peng more. She still felt shy now, and her sense of shame stopped her from fully using all those abilities.
System rewards didn’t seem useful in daily life, but when they were used, they were incredibly powerful. Even Su Peng, who had trained in combat since childhood, had a strong build, and stamina like an athlete, couldn’t handle her.
“I need to slow down, or my image will be completely ruined.”
After washing up, An Han stretched and walked out of the bathroom. Holding the stair railing, she slowly went downstairs.
She wondered what her past self from half a year ago would think if he saw her like this now…
An Han suddenly had this thought.
It was probably hard to imagine, right? After all, in just over half a year, a perfectly normal young man had somehow turned into… someone completely different.
She suddenly felt a bit guilty toward her past self, the one who had fought so hard against the system. It felt like she had betrayed who she used to be.
Her mother was already eating breakfast with her little sister.
As soon as her sister heard footsteps from the stairs, she excitedly looked up and said, “Sister! What were you doing with Brother Su Peng last night?”
“……”
She heard it?!
An Han froze. The polite smile she used around her family completely stiffened.
“Nothing.”
She avoided her sister’s eyes, quickly sat down next to Su Peng, hunched her shoulders, and lowered her head to eat breakfast.
The house really didn’t have good soundproofing. During past New Years, she had even heard her parents making noise in the downstairs bedroom.
But back then, her sister was already asleep and never asked such embarrassing questions.
An Han secretly glanced at her mother. Her mother looked calm and showed no sign of wanting to say anything. But her sister’s curious, eager eyes kept staring at her, making An Han feel extremely awkward.
“We were just… having a pillow fight with Su Peng.”
“Oh! Then I want to play too next time!”
“Next time…” An Han replied weakly.
She seriously suspected her sister was doing this on purpose. At her sister’s age, An Han herself had already learned how to search for strange videos online. But it was also possible her sister really hadn’t thought in that direction at all and only cared about playing.
From time to time, An Han glanced at her mother. Then she leaned closer to Su Peng and whispered, “Did you throw away the trash?”
“I did.”
“That’s good…”
Even if her mother had probably already guessed what happened last night, as long as she wasn’t caught in the act, and as long as no condoms or piles of tissues were found, then it would stay an unspoken understanding, and An Han wouldn’t feel too ashamed.
Breakfast felt a bit tense. After about ten minutes, An Han put down her bowl and chopsticks.
“Mom, I’m done eating.”
She stood up. Her legs were still weak, and she could still feel some pain, but she tried her best to stand straight and walk normally.
“Mm. You’re leaving now?” her mother asked.
“We’re leaving two hours early. We still have to wait for the train.”
Her sister picked up her bowl, finished the rest of her food in one go, and asked excitedly, “Sister! Do you want me to walk you there?”
“Sure, why not?”
They were taking a bus to the high-speed train station anyway, and the bus stop was only about one or two kilometers from home. With her sister along, there was no risk of getting lost.
An Han ran upstairs and brought down both her and Su Peng’s luggage.
It was really just one backpack and one bag of clothes. She hadn’t brought much home this time.
Finally going back to the rented apartment~
After getting used to free life outside, coming home, even with people taking care of her daily needs, still felt uncomfortable. And whenever she interacted with Su Peng, she was always worried her sister or mother might see.
It would be bad if her sister learned the wrong things.
Next comes just me and Su Peng, our own world~
“Mom! I’m leaving!” An Han said loudly, holding her sister’s hand and calling out to her mother, who was cleaning up the dishes.
Her mother waved her hand, telling her to hurry up and go.
Looking at how excited she was to leave, her mother felt annoyed. She had only just gotten engaged to that brat, and her heart was already taken away. It seemed she didn’t even think of this place as home anymore.
