Chapter 159: Oh God… Is Peiya Even Human?
The moment the arrow left the bow, a sharp sound cut through the air, as if the wind itself was shaking.

Because of its body structure, a deer can watch both sides while eating, making it harder to hunt than rabbits or pheasants.

Right then, Peiya raised her bow and fired another shot to finish it.

“Good job,” Wilson said.
But Peiya lowered her bow and spoke seriously,
“Mr. Wilson, don’t go over yet. I think I just heard light footsteps in the distance, and there are many of them. You said there are wild dogs in this area, right? I think we should be careful. This deer might have been chased here by them. If we go now, we might get attacked.”
Wilson’s expression turned serious. After thinking about what Peiya said, he felt it made sense. Whether it was true or not, their safety was the most important thing.
He gave a signal and ordered the maids to release the dogs.
The hunting dogs, once freed from their cages, immediately became alert, moving around and searching for signs.
“Kids, stay behind me,” Wilson said firmly.
Wilson drew his bow fully and stayed alert, watching every small movement around them.
At the same time, Peiya also kept an eye on several openings in the distance. If the wild dogs wanted to surround them, they would usually rush down from higher ground. So she focused on the higher areas.
These beasts were only low-level monsters, but they had brought normal people with them today. If they really got surrounded, it would be hard to keep everyone safe.
So Peiya stayed on guard, her bow fully drawn and aimed at one of the entrances.
Soon, the dog running in front sent back a signal. The others rushed forward together. Peiya followed, still checking the nearby grass for any ambush.
After searching for a while, they saw shadows of wild dogs in the distance. These dogs were already fighting with Elise’s trained hunting dogs.
Although the wild dogs had greater numbers, the trained hunting dogs attacked vital points with precision. In just a short moment, many wild dogs fell.
More importantly, the lead hunting dog kept a safe distance from the pack and didn’t rush in blindly. The other dogs stayed around it, barking.

After one round of attack, the once-aggressive wild dogs were already greatly reduced.
Taking this chance, Peiya aimed at the fiercest one in the pack and shot it in the head. The rest of the wild dogs quickly scattered.
That one was likely their leader.
Wilson had watched everything from start to finish. It was hard to believe that Peiya, a young girl, could match experienced hunters in skill.
“Should we chase them?” Peiya asked, looking at Wilson for advice.
“Let’s take a look. But today’s hunting mood is already ruined,” he replied.
They moved forward. Peiya climbed over a small slope and reached the spot where the wild dogs had just been. She noticed blood on the ground.
After checking the traces carefully, she said,
“They should all be dead. From the signs left by these dogs, it looks like they were a scattered group. Based on their habits, what they did just now wasn’t normal. I’ve never read about wild dogs hunting like this. My guess is that they were driven out of their territory. There might be a stronger force deeper in the mountain, either stronger monsters or other wild animals. We can check the mountain later when the weather is better. For today, it’s not worth it. “…Have you done command work before?” Wilson asked, speechless.
At first, he had doubts about Peiya’s ability, thinking his daughter had just made a pretty but useless friend. But now, it was completely different.
